SHORT COURSE
April 2008
MTT-SCV Short Course 2008 discusses the opportunities, challenges, and concepts of WiMAX mobile broadband.
Abstract
Mobile broadband internet is a transport system as important as waterways, railroads, and interstate highways. Affordable broadband for all citizens is essential to a knowledge-based economy and society. WiMAX has the potential to transform worldwide mobile and broadband markets. Engineers need to be able to understand the complexities facing the rollout of WiMAX networks and address them, while optimizing their WiMAX solutions in a final, portable, and energy-efficient form. This form will need to coexist with other wireless standards-based devices on the same portable device.
The 2008 IEEE MTT-SCV Short Course will give an overview of WiMAX technology, industry trends, and business case. It will include a panel discussion comprised of today’s speakers to address what this technology will look like in 2013. Following lunch, there will be discussions of optimization for end users and GaN technology. Finally, there will be an overview of WiMAX testing.
Please join us with our exciting lineup of speakers in exploring these exciting WiMAX opportunities, and the knowledge base that is required to meet them.
